Honor Unveiled Two Mid-range Smartphones: Honor V9 Play & Honor 6 Play

Huawei sub-brand Honor has just announced its latest smartphones today, touted as the Honor V9 Play and the Honor 6 Play. The foremost is the budget-friendly smartphone and packs some decent specs and features, while the later is a cheaper handset. Let us see what the both new smartphones have to offer.

The V9 Play smartphone features a 5.2 inches touchscreen display with the screen resolution of 720p. The phone runs on the seventh generation Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box with EMUI 5.1 on top of it.


To fuel the phone, there is a MediaTek MT6750 chipset consisting on octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, which is having a clock frequency of 1.5 GHz. For the graphics, the phone packs a Mali-T860MP2 graphic processor that will provide you slightly improved and better experience.


On the storage front, the smartphone comes with a 3GB / 4GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage. If you need more, you can put a microSD card in the hybrid card slot, but you lose the dual SIM functionality.


As far as the camera is concerned, the phone has a 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and LED flash support as well. While for capturing selfies, there is an 8 megapixel front shooter.


To power the device, there is a 3,000 mAh battery buried inside the phone that offers enough battery life. The phone also comes with the support for fingerprint sensor, which placed at the back of device that will allow users to unlock their phone in just 0.4 seconds.


In terms of price, the 3GB RAM model will retail for CNY 999 (round $153 or €128) and for the 4GB RAM version, you have to pay a little more, retails at CNY 1,199 (round $183 or €153).

The smartphone comes with a 5.0-inches touchscreen display with the same screen resolution of 720p. The cheaper phone runs on the outdated Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with EMUI 4.1. And it is powered by the MediaTek MT6737T quad core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz and coupled with Mali-T720MP2 graphic processor.


Under the hood, the smartphone packs a 2GB of RAM along with 32GB of built-in storage that can be further expanded by using a MicroSD card. Regarding the camera, the phone has an 8 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, while on the front, there is a 5 megapixel front facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for capturing selfies.


The smartphone houses a 3,020 mAh battery. If you are interested, you can grab it for insanely low amount of CNY 599, which is just $91 or €76. Currently, the both phones only available in China and there is no word when these two smartphone will be sold in other markets.
